Great Faith

This bible reading.- What better way to explain  Great Faith

The Faith of a Roman Officer -  Bible Luke 8: 5-13

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer[ came and pleaded with him, "Lord, my young servant[ lies inbed, paralised and in terrible pain.”

Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.”

But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.”

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.

What shape might "Great Faith" in our lives. We're human aren't we.

For many of us, real, true faith is much easier when we are surrounded by other people who believe in God and JESUS, when we are cozy, when the problem, the illness, the crisis, the chaos , the distress, the brokenness or tragedy are in someone else's family.

What do we do, what can we do? Do we just blend in with others and encourage the Pastor, Clergy, Priest, Rabbi, or Iman what if no one else is there....We can claim it,  fake it, nod and amen, smile and hold the tissues, but where does "real faith" come in.,

Simple, childlike trust in the one who knows what to do. Children, in the split second of accident or injury do not mince their words. "Help me, dad!"  "Mummy, help me!!!!" with full on volume. But what if they are dazed with a head injury or clinging to a painful wound?  the words may be the same, but maybe just a whisper.

Our heavenly God and Father hears our cries of our hearts no matter the volume.

There is no one way. Great faith is calling out to the ONE we have never seen or maybe never heard audibly.

But HE knows, HE hears, when we we call and acts in a millisecond. His 24hr service!!

The Key is in the name, whether it's ALMIGHTY GOD, FATHER or JESUS. no matter the volume
